Synopsis:
Emilia
They say love and hate are the same feelings experiences under different circumstances, and it's true.
The man who comes to me in my dreams also haunts me in my nightmares.
He is a brilliant lawyer.
A skilled criminal.
A beautiful liar.
A bully and a savior, a monster and a lover.
Ten years ago, he made me run away from the small town where we lived. Now, he came for me in New York, and he isn't leaving until he takes me with him.
Vicious
She is a starving artist.
Pretty and evasive like cherry blossom.
Ten years ago, she barged into my life unannounced and turned everything upside down.
She paid the price.
Emilia LeBlanc is completely off-limits, my vest friend's ex-girlfriend. The woman who knows my darkest secret, and the daughter of the cheap Help we hired to take care of our estate.
That should deter me from chasing her, but it doesn't.
So she hates me. Big fucking deal.
She better get used to me.

Review:
Vicious is one of those books that I continuously come back to. There are a handful of books that I always keep downloaded on my Kindle to go back to when I feel like reading, even if it's just three pages in the morning to wake myself up. Vicious is one of those books.

He started my love affair with L.J. Shen and I don't regret a moment of it. I've read all of her books and let me say that I'm an uber fan. Whenever she comes out with something new, it'll be on my list.
Shen knows her way around a bad boy and wrote the formula on how to make her readers fall in love with them. Vicious was a man that I hated to love and loved watching all of his twisted ways pan out.

There is no doubt that you'll hate Vicious at some points in the story but because the timeline jumps back and forth, you'll always end up forgiving him and even rooting for him. And because the best of these notorious bad boys usually have some dark secrets, Vicious is no different. He might be a rich son of a bastard but he wasn't exactly raised with a loving hand.

Vicious might be horrible to Emilia but she holds her own to the point where you're proud of her for not backing down to him. She has so much growth from the jumps from high school to her present life. Forced from her family with her little sister as her only connection, her life was twice ruined by Vicious. But don't worry folks, Emilia takes her revenge as she starts to shatter the ice surrounding Vicious.
Because Emilia and Vicious have history, that means there are secondary characters that are present throughout but they're actually unique and interesting enough to not want to skip the pages they take up. Friendships are questions and a band of brothers is tested.

Vicious has all of the aspects a juicy romance requires. Bad boy. Sassy woman. Heat. Humor. Love. Lust. Heart.

Like I said, it's a winner.

XO,
