Review: I Do(n't) by Leddy Harper

Title: I Do(n't)
Author: Leddy Harper
Pages: 315
Publisher: Leddy Harper (August 8th, 2017)
Source: Kindle Unlimited
Rating: 5/5

Synopsis:
I fell in love with Holden York when I was six years old.

Most of my youth came with spiral notebooks filled with doodles, wedding plans, and "Janelle York" looped in bubbly handwriting.

However, one night in Vegas changed everything.

I woke up to more than just a fantasy of my brother's best friend.

Five years later, I'm standing on his doorstep confronting him about a secret he kept from me.
If you think this is the story about how we rode off into the sunset together... You're so wrong.

But if you think this is the story of how Holden blackmailed me into living with him... You couldn't be more right.

Review:
I'm a sucker for a good I'm in love with my brother's best friend story. Not only did Leddy Harper provide but she made it a little more interesting with the history between these two characters.

Janelle isn't as put together as her siblings seem to be, so, she joins a reality show. Yes, Janelle is on an island looking for love (and a payout). But, the only thing standing between her and cash is something Holden has over her and he's not giving it up that easy.

The exchange is simple. Stay with him, convince him it's what she really wants, and he'll give her what she's looking for. Seems easy enough. It is the reason Janelle came to his house in the first place, right?

Wrong. Dead wrong.

Years of obsession and one (blacked out) night in Vegas aren't as easy to forget as Janelle hoped for. Now, she's living with the man she wanted to marry as a child is lying to her family about the reasons. When the chemistry between the two gets the best of them, Holden is ready to let the world, and his best friend'd family, know he's in love with Janelle but she isn't. What's stopping her from jumping into the arms of her forever crush?

Money. Cold hard cash. And her spot on reality t.v.

Following Janelle's battle with the paths she has to choose from was a delight. After all, she has a future she needs to think of. A future that would benefit from the amount of money she's expecting to collect. With Holden trying his best to convince her there's more to life than the money, like the family she's been so distant from (and him), all of the cards are in Janelle's hand.

Following the battle within Janelle between love and money had me laughing, deciding what I wanted for her, and flipping through the pages. See for yourself.

Review: Let's Get Textual by Teagan Hunter

Pages: 307
Publisher: Amazon Digital Services
Source: Kindle Unlimited
Rating: 5/5

Synopsis:

A wrong number is supposed to be just that - a wrong number.
Delete. Done.
Do not continue to text. Do not flirt.

A wrong number shouldn't be the first person on your mind when you wake up, or the last at night... and you're definitely not supposed to talk him into buying a baby goat.

Because that would be weird.

When Zach Hastings and I get into a wrong number mix-up, we don't follow the rules. We keep texting and flirting because he's wicked funny and perfectly nerdy and a wonderful distraction.

I'm not looking for love, and Zach definitely has the wrong number.

But maybe...
Maybe he's the right guy.

Review:
Let's Get Textual is just what I was looking for!

With the era of Tinder and Catfishing, it was about time someone took the good 'ole wrong number and turned it into something fun and so not cliche. Zach and Delia are hilarious apart and even better together. They take the best of an awkward scenario and things turn out just fine between the two of them.

Zach is the perfect guy in not only the department of wrong numbers but in general. His comebacks will keep anyone on their toes, he's a smart cookie, has an obsession with Ranch, and bonus, his family is (mostly) awesome. Plus, he bought a baby goat because Delia convinced him too. Which, he adorably dotes on just like any fur dad should *swoon* I've been trying to suggest someone adopt a puppy so I can take over as its true mother but that hasn't quite happened yet. Still, I'm hoping a wrong number turned love story will be in my future.

There's college struggles, breakups, and a nude picture being sent to the masses gone wrong. As a college student, I can assure that these are all things 18-21+ year olds are going through. Though, to have your picture sent to others against your knowledge is something I'd never wish upon anyone. The drama is momentarily there but the story is pushed by the growth of Zach and Delia's relationship, which, you can't help but adore.

I tend to always get invested in my characters and am a huge fan of my "ships." Delia and Zach are such strong character's that I didn't want their story to end. So, thank you, Teagan Hunter for bringing a book that I kept going back to and marked as one of my favorites.

Review: Anti Stepbrother by Tijan

Author: Tijan
Pages: 321
Publisher: Amazon
Source: Purchased
Rating: 5/5

Synopsis:
He told me to settle.
He asked what was wrong with me.
He called me an east target.
That was within minutes of meeting Caden Banks.
I labeled him asshole, but he was more than that. Arrogant. Smug. Alpha.
He was also to-die-for gorgeous, and my stepbrother's fraternity brother.
Okay, yes, I was a a little naive, a tad bit socially awkward, and the smallest amount of stalkerish, but if Caden Banks thought he could tell me what to do, he has another thing coming for him.
I came to college with daydreams about being with my stepbrother, but what if I fell for the anti-stepbrother instead?

Review:
This is one of the best books that I have had the pleasure of reading in a long time!

I'm a huge fan of Kindle Unlimited because I'm a fast reader and I've never been able to put a book down to later come back to it. Once I start a book, I have to finish it. That's the beautiful thing about Kindle Unlimited! However, that usually means the reads are short and a tease. Sometimes less than 90 pages. So, when I discovered Hate To Love You by Tijan, I was so thrilled this was not only a full length novel but a damn good one too. Just when I thought it couldn't get better, I read a preview of Anti-Stepbrother at the end of it and immediately jumped into the next one.

Now, I'm sad that it's over. Anti-Stepbrother is now one of my favorite Kindle books that I can always go back to when I need a little pick me up. It's my current obsession that I already find myself sneaking back to just to read my favorite parts.

Summer was incredibly likable and someone that you want to be friends with. She's a no BS kind of girl and comes from a broken family, which is how she ended up getting stuck in the same house with her high school crush. Talk about awkward and devastating. Kevin is the kind of guy that every girl likes and is every girls dream, and Summer is no different. She follows him to college and runs into the college version of a hot shot Caden Banks. Though they start off on the wrong foot, life keeps throwing the two of them together. Soon she becomes one of the guys, spending all of her time at the Frat house and you really get to see Summer and Caden for who they are and how they act with each other.

Now, Summer is really hated by the other girls. She's "related" to a man whore of a brother who has done wrong to most of the hot girls on campus, and her newfound friend is the shining star in every girl's dreams. What is it about Summer? She doesn't know either.

All relationships are tested, both between siblings and the newfound friendships. Ans the more time that Summer and Caden spend together, the more family secrets emerge.

Sparks fly between the two of them. Only problem is Caden is very anti Summer's stepbrother.

Review: Vicious by LJ Shen

Title: Vicious
Author: LJ Shen
Pages: 326
Publisher: Amazon Digital Services
Source: Kindle Unlimited
Rating: 5/5

Synopsis:
Emilia
They say love and hate are the same feelings experiences under different circumstances, and it's true.
The man who comes to me in my dreams also haunts me in my nightmares.
He is a brilliant lawyer.
A skilled criminal.
A beautiful liar.
A bully and a savior, a monster and a lover.
Ten years ago, he made me run away from the small town where we lived. Now, he came for me in New York, and he isn't leaving until he takes me with him.
Vicious
She is a starving artist.
Pretty and evasive like cherry blossom.
Ten years ago, she barged into my life unannounced and turned everything upside down.
She paid the price.
Emilia LeBlanc is completely off-limits, my vest friend's ex-girlfriend. The woman who knows my darkest secret, and the daughter of the cheap Help we hired to take care of our estate.
That should deter me from chasing her, but it doesn't.
So she hates me. Big fucking deal.
She better get used to me.

Review:
Vicious is one of those books that I continuously come back to. There are a handful of books that I always keep downloaded on my Kindle to go back to when I feel like reading, even if it's just three pages in the morning to wake myself up. Vicious is one of those books.

He started my love affair with L.J. Shen and I don't regret a moment of it. I've read all of her books and let me say that I'm an uber fan. Whenever she comes out with something new, it'll be on my list.
Shen knows her way around a bad boy and wrote the formula on how to make her readers fall in love with them. Vicious was a man that I hated to love and loved watching all of his twisted ways pan out.

There is no doubt that you'll hate Vicious at some points in the story but because the timeline jumps back and forth, you'll always end up forgiving him and even rooting for him. And because the best of these notorious bad boys usually have some dark secrets, Vicious is no different. He might be a rich son of a bastard but he wasn't exactly raised with a loving hand.

Vicious might be horrible to Emilia but she holds her own to the point where you're proud of her for not backing down to him. She has so much growth from the jumps from high school to her present life. Forced from her family with her little sister as her only connection, her life was twice ruined by Vicious. But don't worry folks, Emilia takes her revenge as she starts to shatter the ice surrounding Vicious.
Because Emilia and Vicious have history, that means there are secondary characters that are present throughout but they're actually unique and interesting enough to not want to skip the pages they take up. Friendships are questions and a band of brothers is tested.

Vicious has all of the aspects a juicy romance requires. Bad boy. Sassy woman. Heat. Humor. Love. Lust. Heart.

Like I said, it's a winner.

Teaser: The Foxe and the Hound

About THE FOXE & THE HOUND

When your life is a hot mess at twenty, it’s cute. At twenty-seven…well, not so much.
It’s just that my lofty dreams—making it as a real estate agent, paying rent on time, showering daily—have stayed just that: dreams. Oh, and love? I’ve decided love might be a little ambitious for me at the moment. Instead, I’ve settled for the two guys who will never leave me: Ben & Jerry.
That is, until Dr. Adam Foxe takes up residence as the town’s new vet.
With his strong jaw, easy confidence, and form-fitting scrubs, it’s not long before every housewife in Hamilton is dragging neglected tomcats in for weekly checkups.
Like everyone else, I’m intrigued. Even after I spoil my chance at a good first impression, he still offers me a proposition I can’t refuse: play his girlfriend at a family function and he’ll hire me as his real estate agent. Welcome to love in the 21st century.
It’s too bad I underestimated Adam’s irresistible charm and the undeniable attraction that burns between us. The day he pins me to the wall and silences me with a kiss, the line between reality and ruse begins to blur. Every teasing touch brings me to my knees. Every kiss promises more.
It looks like my hot mess of a life is about to get a little hotter.

Review: Lovestruck by Lila Monroe

Title: Lovestruck
Author: Lila Monroe
Pages: 202
Publisher: Lila Monroe Books
Source: KindleUnlimited
Rating: 5/5

Synopsis:
Will Cassidy is hot, infuriating, and the guy behind the biggest heart-stomping humiliation of my life. He's also hosting my BFF's destination wedding at his super-luxe tropical resort, so short of a hurricane or outbreak of the plague (here's hoping), I'm stuck within tongue's arm's reach of him for the next seven days.

But I'm not a naive college girl anymore, and there's no way I'm falling for his (many) charms again. I just have to ignore the romantic wedding shenenigans, his miraculous abs, all those intimate beach sunsets... And did I mention those abs?

Maybe a wild vacation fling is exactly what I need to even the score... But between the scorching chemistry and all-inclusive margaritas, I'm getting drunk on love. Which definitely isn't part of the plan.

Can I keep my heart zipped - even if my bikini bottoms are lost somewhere on that nude beach? And how do you let go of the past when you're holding on tight to the past's (very ripped) torso?

Review:
Ruby is such a fun, free-spirited girl with a job all of us creative writers and marketing people want! A USC graduate, she created a cozy little Los Angeles life for herself as the CEO of her very own PR firm. With a specialty in social media kid sensations, Ruby's life is always fun and a little crazy. But, none of the scandal's she comes across are as devastating as her college humiliation that involves the very hot Will Cassidy, the man who owns the pair of abs she never quite got over.

So, when she runs into Will LAX not looking her best and he offers to upgrade her to first class with drinks on him, like any rational woman, she accepts. The teasing taunts and the memories of their prior friendship turned heartbreak is the only think keeping Ruby on her toes. But, like all good situations, bad (or fun?) things happen.

Lila Monroe created a fun light romantic read that has you attached to the characters from the very first page. Ruby's humor bounces off of the page and you have no choice but to laugh along with her and be jealous of her crazy Mexico adventures. The chemistry between Ruby and Will is so good you have to feel sorry for Ruby as she tries to deny her libido and listen to her damaged heart.

Yes, Will Cassidy is everything you're looking for in a sexy billionaire with more! He has a wit to match Ruby and her obsession with Star Trek. Sorry, no Fifty Shades type of action going on here, but there is an interesting scene with a jelly fish. With a big heart and always on the lookout for new adventures, especially the ones involving the galaxy, he's impossible not to like!

Lovestruck had me mad that I had to go to the gym and put the book down but happy knowing what I was coming home to! A great read any time of the day or year, but bonus points if done on the beach! Just watch out for those jellies!

I follow his gaze to where my dress has ridden up. When I’m standing, it’s a modest length, but the leather seats in his Audi have hiked up the skirt and a few inches of my thighs are now on perfect display.
His gaze drags down, pausing on my lips for a moment before he trails down my neck and chest. He’s studying my dress—no, he’s studying my body beneath the fabric. His smile is slow to spread, a little haunting…sexual.
